Max Newman is a well-regarded and well-traveled traditional musician known for his engaging melodic playing and attentive accompaniment.
His playing draws particularly on New England, Irish, and Quebecois styles. With a keen interest in New England music and dance, Max has graced many a dance hall playing with luminaries of the style. His primary project is The Stringrays, a veritable supergroup headed by New England fiddle legend Rodney Miller with Stuart Kenney, Sam Bartlett, and Mark “Pokey” Hellenberg.
Max has earned a reputation as a favorite amongst dancers and musicians across North America and the UK. When Max is on-stage, expect a rollicking, captivating musical experience.
